We have been on a number of calls today with the FAA, for both ATO and AVS employees, gathering more information and sharing your concerns. All members of the PASS executive board and the union’s legal team have been on the calls and I wanted to share the information we received.
PASS Sisters and Brothers:
As I told you over the weekend, we are now having daily calls with Tech Ops senior managers including the service area directors. Today, we were joined by a representative of the Office of Aerospace Medicine (AAM). Also starting today and going forward, the PASS National ATO OSH rep, Bob Seagrave, will be on the calls to add another direct conduit for representing employee concerns. Seagrave, and his AVS counterpart Brent Weckwerth, have seen all of the concerns you have submitted to PASS thus far. Tomorrow, Tuesday, March 24, we will begin similar calls with AVS leadership.

As this unprecedented national emergency continues, I want to thank all of you for your dedication to your work and to the mission of the agency. But we continue to work with the FAA for more consistent messaging. They are getting better with timely and transparent information that would protect you and your families, but we still continue to push for more.
PASS has received scores of messages from its members around the country as the coronavirus emergency has continued. This guidance seeks to address some of the questions that have been posed to the union.
One of the concerns that has been raised relates to situations where an employee is concerned about reporting to work or engaging in normal work activities. While the spread of a virus is not the typical situation involving occupational safety and health, our collective bargaining agreement (CBA) language is broad enough to address those concerns. Each individual employee must evaluate their own personal circumstances and determine whether the language in the ATO or AVS CBAs should be invoked in relation to their unique situation.

PASS was busy in 2019 as we focused on fighting for federal workers and increased safety throughout the aviation system. PASS testified twice before Congress on issues important to our members and helped amplify the voices of employees on the front lines of aviation. Increasingly, decision makers are looking to PASS for expert opinions and guidance as they consider changes to the aviation system.
PASS relies on a strong political action committee (PAC) to fight for our members and make sure we are supporting those who support us. Our ask is simple and consistent: fight for federal employees and support aviation safety. Now, more than ever, it is critical that we have the resources to ensure PASS members have a seat at the table where decisions are being made. The union strives to find common ground and work across the aisle on all of our legislative issues. A healthy PAC allows us to build and foster meaningful relationships with those in power who are making decisions every day that directly impact PASS members.
