PASS Statement on Confirmation of Elaine Chao as Transportation Secretary

Mike Perrone, national president of the Professional Aviation Safety Specialists, AFL-CIO (PASS), released the following statement recognizing the confirmation of Elaine Chao as the next secretary of the Department of Transportation:

“PASS congratulates Secretary Chao on her confirmation to lead the Department of Transportation. Secretary Chao brings years of important experience to the position, including having served as deputy transportation secretary under President George H.W. Bush. The employees represented by PASS are an essential part of this country’s transportation system, including Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) systems specialists and aviation safety inspectors. These employees work continuously in order to ensure the safety and efficiency of the world’s largest and safest aviation system. I look forward to working with Secretary Chao and the Department of Transportation to continue modernizing and growing the National Airspace System.”
