Systems specialists, aviation safety inspectors and thousands of other critical FAA employees work every day to ensure the safety and efficiency of the National Airspace System.
These workers are a vital part of our nation’s complex air traffic control system and they are dedicated to ensuring the safety and efficiency of the air traffic control system. However, sequestration continues to impact implementation of the much-needed Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen), staffing and training. PASS is deeply concerned that if furloughs are again mandated in 2014, the FAA cannot fulfill its safety mission, which will jeopardize the operation of the greatest and safest airspace system in the world. PASS urges Congress to work swiftly to ensure that the FAA has the funding it needs to continue serving the flying public without interruption.
